Pre-Award
The University of Central Florida’s Office of Research supports faculty and staff with grant development and submission. As the applicant organization, UCF is institutionally responsible for verifying the accuracy, eligibility, and compliance of all proposals submitted to sponsors on its behalf.
This responsibility is shared among key stakeholders—including the Principal Investigator (PI), the PI’s Chair or Director (or designee), business manager, grant administrator, and the Office of Research.
Acting as UCF’s authorized organizational representative (AOR) per UCF Policy 4-214, the Office of Research reviews all proposals for sponsored funding. The AOR ensures proposals meet institutional, state, federal, and sponsor requirements—covering administrative, fiscal, and scientific components—and provides necessary representations and certifications to external sponsors.
As UCF’s official signatory, the AOR is responsible for submitting or approving the submission of all sponsored funding proposals. This process is managed through the Huron Research Suite (HRS/Huron Grants).
