Pre-Award
The Office of Research Pre-Award team partners with faculty and staff throughout the proposal review and submission process. Pre-Award Specialists provide guidance on sponsor requirements, budget preparation, institutional approvals, and proposal submission.
As the applicant organization, UCF is responsible for ensuring that all proposals submitted on its behalf are accurate, eligible, and compliant with institutional, sponsor, state, and federal requirements. In accordance with UCF Policy 4-214, Office of Research Pre-Award staff serve as UCF’s Authorized Organizational Representatives (AORs), conducting institutional reviews and providing the certifications, approvals, and submissions required by sponsors.
All proposals for sponsored funding must be reviewed and either submitted, or approved for submission, by an Office of Research Pre-Award Specialist.
What is Sponsored Funding?
Sponsored funding includes grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, fellowships, subawards, and other externally funded projects that impose specific performance, reporting, compliance, or financial obligations on the university.

Internal Submission Deadlines
Complete proposals must be submitted to the Office of Research Pre-Award team 5 full business days prior to the sponsor deadline.
