Responsibilities of the Investigator After the conduct of Human Research

Human Research must undergo continuing review until all four of the following are true:

  • The research is permanently closed to enrollment.
  • All participants have completed all research-related interventions.
  • Collection of private identifiable information is completed.
  • Analysis of private identifiable information is completed.

If all of the above items are true, the research may be closed.

Request a study closure in Huron, see the Quick Reference Guide-How to Submit a Study Closures. Maintain signed and dated consent documents for five years after completion of the research. Maintain signed and dated HIPAA authorizations and consent documents that include HIPAA authorizations for six years after completion of the research (if written consent and HIPAA are required).
Note: If you fail to submit a Study Closure Request Form to close out the Human Research, you will be restricted from submitting new Human Research until the completed application has been received.
