Sophia F. Dziegielewski is a Professor and Director of the School of Social Work, University of Cincinnati (UC), Cincinnati, Ohio.
Educational qualifications include her MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.
Dr. Dziegielewski is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida and Ohio. Also, prior to arriving at UC she was Chairperson for the
University of Central Florida Human Subjects Review Board, where she presided over all human subjects research at this large (43, 000 students) metropolitan
university. Currently, she continues to serve as a Vice-Chair for this University. In addition, in the interim from February 2006 to July 2006
she agreed to serve in the position of Chair of IRB, Behavioral Science Review Board at the University of Cincinnati, and continues to serve as a committee
member for this large research intensive university. Throughout her social work academic and practice career she has been active in the area of evidence-based
practice and research in the area of health and mental health.
In the national magazine "Social Worker Today" in 2003 a feature story about Dr. Dziegielewski referred to her as a "legend" in her field. She
is the recipient of numerous awards, and supports her research and practice activity with over 110 publications, including 7 textbooks, 74 articles,
numerous book chapters and over 500 national workshops and community presentations.
