Dr. Rex Culp comes to UCF from the University of Alabama, where he was Professor and Endowed Research Chair in Human Environmental Sciences since 1997, during which time he co-founded the Institute for Rural Health Research and was a graduate faculty member in Educational Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. He also has served as a department head at Oklahoma State University and was a founding faculty member of its Parenting Research Center. As an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, he was director of the Family Research Center. He spent his early academic career at the University of Kansas, Colorado State University, and the University of Colorado. His research accomplishments include numerous grants in the area of health and well-being of at-risk children and families. Dr. Culp holds a Ph.D. in Development and Child Psychology and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas. He completed his Master's and undergraduate work in Psychology and Human Development at the University of Kansas.
