- Designated Office of Research & Commercialization (ORC)
personnel are UCF's official contacts with sponsor agencies.
They are authorized to communicate with the sponsor on all
administrative matters (e.g., compliance with proposal guidelines,
policy issues, all aspects of contract and grant agreements,
amendments, modifications, no-cost extensions, and budget transfer
requests).
- The Principal Investigator (PI) is authorized to communicate with the sponsor on technical aspects of the project only.
- A general guideline to follow is that contract personnel talk to the other party's contract representative. Technical personnel talk to the other party's technical representative. Department of Defense awards often preclude discussions between one party's contract personnel and the other party's technical point of contact.
