Reality Experiences
The UCF research faculty luncheon series will continue in March with a
presentation by Dr. Charlie Hughes, Associate Director, EECS; Director,
Media Convergence Lab.
Mixed reality (MR) refers to techniques and technologies that blend
real and virtual stimuli into a single multisensory experience. This
presentation will describe a series of MR scenarios that have been
created at the Media Convergence Laboratory (MCL). These include
experiences for training, free-choice learning, rehabilitation, and
performance assessment. Particular emphasis will be placed on an
NSF-funded project, Water’s Journey through the Everglades, that
involves faculty from EECS, IST, Digital Media, Statistics, Biology and
English (Text &Technology).
